François Bourgault 1974 - Royal Caroline Boat
30" wide x 24" high. Natural wood. No sail. VERY RARE! #1358
François Bourgault was the son of Antonio Bourgault, caretaker of the Stone Pillar, and brother of Lucien Bourgault, a sculptor. In his retirement, François Bourgault crafted several miniature boats of remarkable perfection, both in scale and realism. According to André-Médard Bourgault, François's cousin and son of Médard Bourgault, the boats François made were renowned for their exquisite detail. He claimed they rivaled the boats of the Leclerc family. The Royal Caroline model remains a rare and exceptionally high-quality piece.
