Model of the “Blue Nose” – first period – Eugène Leclerc
Superb handcrafted model of the schooner, made by Eugène Leclerc during his early career. This piece testifies to the traditional know-how and unique style of this renowned craftsman.
Natural wood finish with touches of antique red, offering an elegant contrast and beautifully highlighting the ship's shape.
It is said that Eugène Leclerc preferred the hulls left in their natural state, but that he added paint when the grain of the wood did not satisfy him — a detail which here contributes to the charm and authenticity of the model.
Richly detailed: complete rigging, pulleys, fitted deck, anchor and finely crafted accessories. The whole piece has a period patina that enhances its character and appeal to collectors.
Mounted on its stand, ready to display.
Dimensions: Approximately 34 inches x 28 inches.
Condition: Good overall condition, with wear and patina consistent with age
Ideal for collectors or enthusiasts of Quebec maritime history.
