The Defender 89 was manufactured by Iver Johnson, Worcester, MA, in the late 1800s.
This Defender 89 is chambered in .32 rimfire. The 2 3/8" round barrel has a very good bore with glazing in the rifling grooves. The top sling is marked DEFENDER 89.
The pistol retains approximately 95% of its original nickel-plated finish with some scattered flaking. The very thin, hard rubber grips have decorative rollers with "DEFENDER '89" on each side. There are no cracks or chips.
The action functions correctly. It's a good example of the type of pistol carried by most people in the late 19th century.
Category: HISTORICAL WEAPON. Requires no permit or registration.
