At first glance, it may seem incompatible, but isn't it?  And yet, every time a collector buys a reproduction of a historic weapon sold by Expoantique.com, nearly 50% of the purchase price helps workers in a small family-run workshop to improve their living conditions.  In December 2023, we launched a new online sales site specializing in the sale and purchase of objets d'art.  In addition to paintings by Quebec painters, Leclerc miniature boats, etc., we have reserved a section of our website for the sale of reproductions of historic weapons produced in a workshop located in Udaipur in the state of Rajasthan, India. These are high-quality collector's items that will enhance the décor of your home.

Working conditions remain precarious for the craftsmen who hand-make every component of these weapons, which are faithful in every respect to the originals.  Although we offered to subsidize tables and workbenches to improve their environment, the workers asked us to buy them weapons rather than accept a donation. It's important to respect their dignity and avoid imposing our vision of things.  So we've ordered dozens of weapons and put them online on our site, to complete any gun collection worthy of the name. Our muskets and pistols are reproductions of weapons manufactured before 1898, to be categorized as historical weapons under Canadian firearms legislation.

The flintlock muskets offered on our website, notably the French Charleville 1728 and 1777 models, and the British Brown Bess, can even be used for live firing, provided you have the required permits, notably for the use of black powder.  Otherwise, no firearms license is required to acquire, move or display these magnificent replicas.
