 Réjane Sanschagrin was born on February 24, 1933 in St-Tite, in Mauricie. She began painting around 1968, without having received any academic training. His works are mainly portraits and still lifes, made in oil or dry pastel. Her faces express sensitivity and deep emotion, inspired by her experience as a nurse.

 She exhibits her paintings in several galleries in Quebec and Ontario, and receives critical praise. She died in 2004, after devoting the last five years of her life to painting.

 Réjane Sanschagrin is recognized as a self-taught artist who knew how to create a personal and touching style.
