This flintlock pistol is an authentic French Gendarmerie pistol, Model An IX (First Empire), recognizable by its iron stock and short barrel. It is a Model An IX pistol used by the Gendarmerie or Light Cavalry. Lock: Flintlock with a round matchlock, generally signed by the Saint-Étienne State Manufacture. Furniture: All iron (trigger guard, butt plate, side plate) with a walnut stock.
