An exceptional, unmodified French military flintlock pistol, model 1822 (first type), manufactured at the Saint-Étienne Arms Factory. This weapon represents the ultimate development of the flintlock system in French military weaponry.


Description: Adopted in 1822, this model was intended for mounted troops, cavalry, and certain military services, before being gradually replaced or converted to percussion. Examples that remained flintlock are now significantly rarer, the majority having been modified in subsequent decades.
